COVID-19 vaccine trial seeks more participants

Southampton researchers are now seeking to recruit up to 620 new volunteers for the next two phases of trials following phase 1 completion

 

Southampton researchers have completed the phase I trial of the ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 vaccine, which could protect against COVID-19, and are now seeking to recruit up to 620 new volunteers for the next two phases.

They are looking for volunteers in the following categories:

  • 250 people aged 18-55, who are at higher risk of infection, including frontline hospital staff and cleaners/catering staff who go into frontline areas, paramedics; anyone who works in care homes (including cleaners, nurses, care assistants); dentists, GPs and GP surgery staff, including nurses;
  • 120 people over 70;
  • 250 people over 55, including over 70s

Please note the following:

You must: You must NOT:
Be 18 years or over Have tested positive for COVID-19
Be in good health Be pregnant, intending to become pregnant, or breastfeeding during the study
Based in the Southampton area Have previously taken part in a trial with an adenoviral vaccine or received any other coronavirus vaccines
