New tool created by Hampshire County Council’s Public Health team.

Community Pharmacists are in a unique position to help normalise conversations about continence and offer reassurance that support is available. Talking to your customers using Live Longer Better Continence Checklist can give them practical hints and tips to manage their own continence issues.

Many people experience bladder leakage or urgency, yet it can be embarrassing to discuss. Incontinence can have a significant impact on wellbeing, affecting sleep, hydration, confidence, and even increasing the risk of falls when people rush to the bathroom at night. The Live Longer Better Continence Checklist, created by Hampshire County Council’s Public Health team, is a free, practical resource you can share with customers. It offers tips to improve bladder health, highlights helpful self‑management approaches, and explains when to seek further advice. Encouraging people to use the checklist can help them feel more informed and confident about managing symptoms. By opening up a friendly conversation, you can support residents to stay well, maintain independence, and live longer, better.
