This document/ poster provides safety and usage instructions for healthcare professionals and patients regarding the use of Salbutamol inhalers. It includes:
- Dose Tracking and Usage
- Inhalers do not have a dose counter.
- After 200 puffs, the inhaler may still spray but will not deliver the prescribed dose.
- Patients should keep a record of puffs used for each inhaler, especially if using more than one inhaler.
- Recommendations for Patients/Carers
- Keep a spare inhaler at frequently used locations (home, school, work).
- Do not rely on shaking, weighing, or floating the inhaler to check if it is empty—these methods are unreliable.
- Access to Further Information
- The Risk Awareness Dialogue Aid and additional materials can be accessed on the emc website by searching for Ventolin Evohaler and viewing the 'Risk Materials' tab.
