If you are a pharmacy technician working in a community pharmacy setting, give your career a boost by signing up to fully-funded training, offered through the Pharmacy Integration Fund.

The community pharmacy profession is changing and becoming integrated into the wider NHS healthcare team. In your role, you may have not have had the opportunity to develop the attitudes, skills and behaviours to take on a leadership role in your pharmacy. You can now explore what this means through these new leadership and personal development courses.


Mary Seacole Programme Leadership for community pharmacy

This programme is aimed at pharmacy technicians and pharmacists and will enable you to lead an effective team and really get the best from the people you work with. You will learn how to place patients at the centre of everything you do, driving quality services and exploring new opportunities.

Courses start between August 2018 and March 2019 across: Birmingham • Bristol • Coventry • Dorset • Leeds • Liverpool • London • Manchester • Newcastle • Nottingham • Preston • Reading • Sheffield

Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician Programme

This course aims to support pharmacy technicians to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to provide the final accuracy check of dispensed medicines that have been clinically screened or approved by a pharmacist, and assembled and labelled by another team member.

This 3 to 12-month training and development programme is designed to support pharmacy technicians to meet a range of competencies, in order to deliver safe and effective patient care when working as an ACPT. It includes tasks that will develop the skills required to support the team and drive performance. The learning is delivered online and in the workplace to offer maximum flexibility.
