Pharmacy Quality Scheme (PQS) Audits

Summary information on the Anticoagulant and Antibiotic Audits required for PQS

There are two audits required for this year's Pharmacy Quality Scheme, one focusing on patients taking Anticoagulants (Medicines Safety domain) and one for patients taking Antibiotcis for an acute infection (Prevention domain). These can both be completed now, but must be started before the end of January to meet the timescales set by NHSE&I.

Medicines Safety - Anticoagulants Audit

Required: Minimum of 15 patients

Time period: 2-4 weeks

Who: All patients on Oral Anticoagulants e.g. Warfarin or DOACs including Apixaban, Edoxaban etc.

Prevention - Antibiotic Checklist/ Audit

Required: Minimum of 25 patients

Time period: 4 weeks

Who: All patients on Oral Antibiotics for an acute infection
