REMINDER: Faxes vs NHS mail communications (FAO: Portsmouth CCG pharmacies only)
Written by admin on Friday 1st May 2020
The following message was sent by PharmOutcomes message as part of the 'Axe the fax' NHS initiative, but in case you missed the details are shared again here

The Portsmouth GP practices stopped using fax machines at the end of March as part of the wider 'Axe the Fax' NHS initiative. This was pre-planned and Robert Brownsmith did send comms via Pharmoutcomes to all Portsmouth CCG locality community pharmacies in conjunction with the CCG’s primary care team to make sure the practices NHS.net addresses were shared with community pharmacy and vice versa in January.
Most, but not all pharmacies did respond via Pharmoutcomes, to say that they had seen Rob's message and taken action. As a belt and braces approach, CPSC is now sharing the same message again to ensure that you all are aware of this.
All Portsmouth GPs have stopped using faxes, so it's now important that all community pharmacies check their NHS.net shared email addresses on a regular basis, as this is now the preferred method for communicating with each other.
