Healthier Together Community Pharmacy Training
The Healthier Together programme – now supporting community pharmacists in the delivery of high quality care to children and young people
Overview
The Healthier Together programme aims to improve the health of children and young people across Wessex by ensuring that parents receive consistent advice across the care pathway by forging closer collaboration and integration between primary and secondary care.
Need to involve community pharmacists
Community pharmacists play a key role in the delivery of care to children and young people and will play a larger role following the introduction of the Community Pharmacy Consultation Service. However, until now, there has been no overarching education piece focusing on our professional group. Interactive workshops have been produced for the training of GPs, practice nurses, health visitors, NHS 111 staff and ED doctors; these have been hugely influential in ensuring that parents and carers receive consistent management and messages from healthcare professionals. Educational resources have now been developed for community pharmacists (based on the existing healthier together workshops) and resources have been secured to enable evening training sessions to be delivered across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
Come along to discover the materials available to support you in delivering a safe and effective service for children and young people that is valued by parents and integrates community pharmacy into the established care pathways.
We recommend booking early to avoid disappointment and please encourage your colleagues in the local area to come along.
The meeting will commence with hot two course meal at 6:30pm, for a 7:30pm start. We will finish at 9:30pm.
This event is FREE to attend and includes a two course hot meal and refreshments.
