Primary care healthcare professionals and staff are being encouraged to sign up to Diabetes Prevention Week which helps raise awareness of the Healthier You: NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme (NDPP)

The campaign has been developed to raise awareness of the NDPP, increase programme referrals and encourage members of the public to be more aware of the symptoms of type 2 diabetes.

To help interested parties participate in the week being held across 16th to 22nd April, an online resource pack has been created that is packed with marketing materials. This is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate your 'Healthy Living Pharmacy' status in the community.

There is also a Diabetes Prevention Week toolkit that includes materials, such as posters, leaflets, bunting and stickers, to help staff at Community Pharmacies / GP surgeries host their local diabetes prevention events that raise awareness of the causes of Type 2 diabetes, the complications associated with it and people that are most at risk of developing the condition.
