Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust EPS Prescription Problem

Affects some scripts issued between Monday 2nd Feb and Weds 4th Feb 2026

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (HIOWH)(formerly Southern Health) had some issues with their EPS system between Monday 2nd Feb and Weds 4th Feb 2026.

This has meant that some prescriptions are showing an ‘invalid prescriber’ signature when pulled off the pharmacy PMR system for dispensing.

This error was rectified on the afternoon of 4th February 2026.

Unfortunately this error was outside HIOWH control and cannot be seen at the HIOWH end so their prescribers have no way of knowing if any of their prescriptions are affected.

HIOWH are in the process of informing prescribers of this issue and for them to be aware that they may receive requests to provide replacement prescriptions for those patients affected, informing all prescribers will take some time and so some prescribers may still not be aware.

If you have received an affected prescription it will only have the Trust Headquarters telephone number as a contact – the trust apologise for this and are working to provide more contact details on future prescriptions.

You will need to gain the contact details of the prescriber and clinic from the patient in-order to request a replacement prescription.

If there are any issues contact the Trust Pharmacy team at this email address and they will aim to respond as soon as they can:
