Medicines Advice Service at Southampton

This service supports pharmacists and other professionals providing primary care services in our area (including to care homes) with clinical questions about medicines

There are many times when health professionals want to query or check their knowledge before providing advice or medicines to their patients. The Medicines Advice Service at Southampton aims to help GPs, pharmacists and nurses in primary care to use medicines safely
What to do and how to use:
- Please utilise your usual online resources about medicines before calling them
- Advice about answering common enquiries is also available from the Medicine Safety Portal. This is a collaboration between the Southampton Medicines Advice Service at University Hospital Southampton and Wessex AHSN
- Some professionals working in general practice have free access to Medicines Complete
- SPS also provides a national information resource hub for care homes

Hours of opening: 0900 to 1830, Monday to Friday
