Pharmacy First: Urgent Supply Service

Checking the National Care Records System (NCRS)
Reminder: It is best practice to always check the patient’s NCRS record before making a supply.
The ICB have become aware of some patients using the system multiple times in a short period of time.
Prescribers will start to annotate some medication of concern in the NCRS record to show if they do not want an urgent supply to be given.
As this is a national Pharmacy Service the clinical judgement whether to supply or not sits with the responsible pharmacist on the day.
