A thank you from Hampshire & Isle of Wight ICB
More people in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight have been protected from COVID-19 than anywhere else in the South-East region, thanks to the hard work and commitment of teams working on the vaccination programme.
The 2024 spring programme has now drawn to a close and locally more than 180,000 eligible people came forward to take up their offer of the vaccine. NHS Hampshire and the Isle of Wight delivered the third highest number of vaccinations nationally compared to other NHS Integrated Care Boards.
The uptake level in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight was 65.7% which was the highest across the South-East and the fifth highest for population uptake across the country.
Dr Matt Nisbet, Clinical Lead for the Covid Vaccination Programme at NHS Hampshire and Isle of Wight said:
“This phenomenal achievement could not have happened without a huge amount of hard work and collaboration between Primary Care Networks, community pharmacies and the COVID-19 vaccination programme team who glue all the bits of the system together.
Our new roving vaccination vehicle was also launched this spring which has helped us reach members of our local communities who may not have otherwise come forward.
I would like to thank all the teams across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight who have taken part in the campaign, which has led to the high levels of vaccination rates across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. This will ultimately keep people and communities safe and healthy.”
