In response to high levels of travel associated infections, UKHSA has produced a communications toolkit to help reduce the impact of preventable travel-related illnesses among people travelling abroad by increasing awareness of pre-travel health advice and uptake of preventative measures.

The toolkit aims to support stakeholders with their communications to people visiting friends and relatives abroad or travelling for leisure and business. They have recently updated the toolkit to reflect the JCVI advice on the Chikungunya vaccine which was published on 16 July.

The information and resources in this toolkit can be used by a range of stakeholders who have a role in communicating travel health including health professionals, local authorities, community groups and leaders, and anyone else who represents or works with people visiting friends and relatives abroad.

The toolkit includes a range of social media assets and videos for both visiting friends and relatives and leisure travellers.

If you have trouble accessing the toolkit, please email externalaffairs@ukhsa.gov.uk

The Travel Health Pro website, supported by UKHSA, also provides comprehensive information on health risks worldwide and is an excellent resource for trip planning.
