ACTION NEEDED
We would love to hear from community pharmacy teams in Wessex to help us develop a picture of the processes involved in distributing medicines to local care home teams. To do this we would be grateful if you could spare between 30 and 60 minutes of your time to talk to us (either over the phone or face to face) so we can understand how prescriptions for care homes are managed and dispensed.
WHO ARE WE?
The Wessex Patient Safety team is one of 15 Patient Safety teams across England who work together to determine how we can best support local teams to ensure they are able to give the best possible health care.
WHY DO WE NEED YOUR HELP?
Recently all Patient Safety teams have been asked by NHS England and NHS Improvement to work on a 3-year national care home programme to help identify how we might be able to work with and support care home teams to develop medicine administration practices.
WHAT HAPPENS TO THIS INFORMATION?
The information we collect will be used anonymously to develop our understanding of the way medicines management processes support local care home teams to administer resident medications. This will help influence the direction of the national programme next year and make sure that any future work we may do with care home teams is both useful and makes a difference to staff working with and in care homes.
