Updated PGD and National Protocol Published

NHS England and NHS Improvement (NHSE&I) announced on 29th September that Community Pharmacy staff (and other Primary Care staff) were eligible to receive their flu vaccination via the NHS Service.

NHSE&I have now published the update PDG and national protocol to allow pharmacies to provide this service. The updated documents can be found here:

The ‘Frontline health and social care staff’ cohort should be selected on PharmOutcomes for recording any staff, including any locums.

For any members of staff already vaccinated via other means you do NOT need to create a new clinical record on PharmOutcomes. You will need to amend your claim on MYS to include staff vaccinations already given before submitting.

You will need to keep a manual record of the number of staff vaccinated. This data should separately count the number of staff vaccinated from each of the four primary care groups and reported each month on MYS in a separate module, which will be linked to from the main MYS flu vaccination module. This data collection is just for evaluation purposes and this data will not affect the claim for payment.
