Community Pharmacy Winter Planning Christmas and New Year Requirements 2023/24

In accordance with the Pharmaceutical Regulations NHSE are collating the details of pharmacy provision during the Christmas and New Year holiday period to ensure adequate coverage across the area. Please complete the online declaration via the link below no later than Friday 25^th August 2023.

If you plan to be closed on all the bank holidays you still need to complete the declaration.

Christmas Day	Monday	25/12/23	Public Holiday		Pharmacies to declare if they will be closed or their intended opening times.
Boxing Day	Tuesday	26/12/23	Bank Holiday		Pharmacies to declare if they will be closed or their intended opening times.
New Year’s Day	Monday	01/01/24	Bank Holiday		Pharmacies to declare if they will be closed or their intended opening times.

Other dates

Christmas Eve	Sunday	24/12/23	Normal Working Day
New Year’s Eve	Sunday	31/12/23	Normal Working Day

If you wish to open at different times on these two days you must submit the relevant change of hours form, please see below for more detail.

Changes to Supplementary or Core Hours

Contractors may notify NHSE of a change to their supplementary or core opening hours under their terms of service as set out in the Regulations.

If you wish to notify a temporary change, please complete the relevant form.
