Community Pharmacy Workforce Survey 2024

ALL PHARMACIES MUST COMPLETE by 11th December

The Community Pharmacy Workforce Survey 2024 opened on Wednesday 16 October 2024 and will close on Wednesday 11 December 2024.

The focus is on the number of staff (head count), the number of FTE and vacancies in each of ten staff categories employed in community pharmacy.

From 1 October 2022, new regulations laid out by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) required pharmacy contractors to complete an annual workforce survey.

This requirement recognises the priority the NHS places on the community pharmacy workforce, and the importance of collecting consistent, accurate data to support effective workforce planning.

As with previous surveys, the data will be collected through two different methods:

  • An online survey; or
  • Via data collection at Head Office level through an Excel spreadsheet.

The NHSBSA has sent emails this week to pharmacies asking them to complete the online survey.
