Original message from CPPE:

Dear Colleague,

We are delighted to inform you about the launch of our new Foundation pharmacist programme 2020/21.

Are you a provisionally registered pharmacist working in a community pharmacy looking to take the first step in your career? Or maybe you are an employer planning to enlist a foundation pharmacist to your community pharmacy team. This programme is for you!

This 12-month programme is completely free as it is fully funded by Health Education England and is available to all provisionally registered pharmacists working in community pharmacies in England. Some employers, such as Boots, have internal programmes which will take priority over the CPPE programme. If you do have access to internal programmes, you should use those rather than the CPPE programme.

Our foundation programme offers a comprehensive mix of online tutor-supported study, learning activities, workshops and assessment. Learners will also be supported by a CPPE education supervisor throughout the programme who will support them with personal development planning and conducting practice-based assessments and feedback. This mix of workplace support and assessment will allow learners to apply their learning and put it straight into practice.

Completing this programme will support participants to deliver person-centred consultations, optimise medicines and deliver high-quality community pharmacy services to meet patient needs and public health priorities. The learning covers a wide range of topics that will help to prepare participants for their career after the programme including leadership, consultation skills, person-centred care and application of clinical knowledge and skills with evidence-informed decision making. This selection of modules will help equip learners to work confidently and competently as part of diverse multi-professional, multi-sector teams.

Applications for the Foundation pharmacist programme 2020/21 are now open and the application process is quick and simple. For more information on the programme and how to apply, visit: www.cppe.ac.uk/career/fpp20-21/foundation-pharmacist-programme#nav-top or email: foundationpractice@cppe.ac.uk

We look forward to receiving your application and welcoming you to CPPE learning.

Kind regards,
The CPPE Foundation Team
