Local Provision for Hampshire & Isle of Wight
Community Pharmacy Hampshire & Isle of Wight have been working with our local hospitals and ICB to put systems in place to help patients access Creon during the ongoing shortage.
UHS have underwritten a bulk order of imported Creon stock that Hampshire & Isle of Wight community pharmacies can order – THIS IS ONLY FOR HAMPSHIRE & ISLE OF WIGHT PHARMACIES.
From late next week*, pharmacies will be able to order Creon from the Oxford Pharmacy Store (OPS) if they have an account set up with them. The OPS should only be used when licensed stock is not available from a wholesaler and patient has 10 days or less stock left.
If you do not yet have an account email ops.orders@oxfordhealth.nhs.uk to set one up (this may take up to 3 days).
You will need to supply the following details: Pharmacy Name, Address, Email for remittance, ODS code.
Ordering imported stock from OPS
Send orders to ops.orders@oxfordhealth.nhs.uk
When stock arrives make sure you keep it separate from ‘normal’ UK Creon that has been ordered from regular wholesalers.
When using stock ordered from OPS – remember any scripts you are using this stock to fill need to say either Creon IMPORTED in drug line (EPS) or Special Order (handwritten) as per the MSN:
Make sure you claim all costs associated with ordering this stock when you dispense it.
*TBC stock in enroute to the UK.
