Ordering 2-3 years old flu vaccine stock

Stock is not auto replenished and must be ordered.

Ordering additional LAIV – FOR INFORMATION AND ACTION

Community pharmacies must order additional stock by raising an order on the Federated Data Platform (FDP) (Access and use the Supply Dashboard)

How to order additional vaccine

Step 1: Check you meet the requirements - You can only request more Live Attenuated Influenza Vaccine (LAIV) when you meet all these criteria:

Usage and stock level criteria:

  • You have administered at least 50% of your previously supplied doses
  • You have fewer than 1 pack remaining in stock

Appointment demand criteria: Your National Booking Service (NBS) appointments must show:

  • At least 20 appointments in October
  • At least 10 appointments per month thereafter, or sufficient booked appointments to justify additional supply

Step 2: Complete a stocktake - Record a stocktake within 7 days before placing your order.

Step 3: Place your order on FDP. See page 10 of the Access and use the Supply Dashboard guidance for detailed instructions. This process takes approximately FOUR working days.

Transfer of flu vaccine by community pharmacies

The supply team is creating guidance for community pharmacies delivering the influenza vaccination service for children aged 2 and 3 years using LAIV to describe how sites should ensure that they retain a correct stock balance in FDP to facilitate future orders of vaccine. In the interim, sites should ensure that they submit stocktakes that accurately reflect vaccine levels at the site.
