GP Surgery focus on eRD over next couple of months

A message from Portsmouth CCG and Hampshire, Southampton & Isle of Wight CCG
To help with winter pressures experienced by GP practices NHS Portsmouth CCG & NHS Hampshire Southampton and Isle of Wight CCG GP practices will shortly be concentrating on improving their use of electronic repeat dispensing (eRD.) There is an aspiration at CCG level to significantly increase use of eRD for more patients.
Community Pharmacy should expect to see an uplift in eRD prescribing soon, please ensure support staff are familiar with the processes, and can explain eRD when necessary to patients.
Please continue to:
- Inform GP practices about any patients that you have identified as suitable for eRD
- Make sure you are telling patients to contact their GP practice upon collection of their last issue to arrange a review ahead of their next batch.
