Local campaign resources

This January, Hampshire County Council launched a campaign to help smokers in Hampshire quit smoking, with a special focus on people in routine and manual occupations. The smoking rate among these workers is 16.6%, significantly higher than the county average of 9.3%. The campaign aims to help reduce this disparity and improve health for everyone.
The resources share success stories from locals who have quit, offering both inspiration and practical tips. Here’s how you can help:
- Social media: Share our posts, which you can find on: Facebook and (35) Hampshire County Council: Company Page Admin | LinkedIn
- Website: Add a banner or information about the campaign
- Press: Include it in related press releases
- Display campaign posters: Place our campaign posters in high-traffic areas within your facilities to increase visibility
Editable versions of the assets such as digital posters and Facebook ads are also available for you to add your logo – simply contact Mary.Stone@hants.gov.uk or Alison.Downie2@hants.gov.uk to request these.
The main message to share is that Smokefree Hampshire is a free and highly effective quit-smoking service commissioned by Hampshire County Council, that’s open to residents and those working in Hampshire. This service is available through many pharmacies.
There are around 118,000 smokers in Hampshire, costing the county approximately £988million in lost productivity, and social and health care costs. Tackling smoking with campaigns like this will help to significantly increase the number of Hampshire smokers quitting each year, moving towards becoming a Smokefree County by 2030.
