IMPORTANT: Flu Vaccination Service – Correct Vaccine for Over 65

Reports of incorrect vaccine being given or recorded on PharmOutcomes
Please make sure you are giving AND recording the correct vaccination for those patients in the over 65 cohort.
The only vaccines approved (and therefore payable) for use with this cohort are:
- Adjuvanted Quadrivalent Influenza Vaccine (aQIV) or
- Recombinant Quadrivalent Influenza Vaccine (QIVr)
Only when aQIV or QIVr NOT available can you use:
- Cell-based Quadrivalent Influenza Vaccine (QIVc)
PharmOutcomes displays some vaccines in the pick list that are NOT appropriate to use in this cohort. Those highlighted in red MUST NOT be used.
The Cell-based Quadrivalent Influenza Vaccine (QIVc) must only be used when aQIV or QIVr are not available.
