Introduction of Creon Capsule SSPs

Effective from 24th May 2024, SSP60 and SSP61 provides for the following:
- SSP60 – Creon® 10000 gastro-resistant capsules limit supply to one month’s treatment
- SSP61 – Creon® 25000 gastro-resistant capsules limit supply to one month’s treatment
Key points relating to SSP060 and SSP061
- The SSPs will restrict the amount of these medicines that can be provided to patients to one-month’s supply.
- Under the SSP regulations, patients who receive less medicine than prescribed when supplied in accordance with these SSPs will not have to pay prescription charges.
- The supervising pharmacist should ensure that the patient’s prescriber is notified when supplying a patient in accordance with these SSPs

Reimbursement
Reimbursement is for the medicine supplied in accordance with the SSP and not the originally prescribed quantity. The reimbursement price will account for VAT payment. Supply in accordance with the SSP will result in the following fees being paid to the pharmacy owner:
- One Single Activity fee (currently £1.27)
- One SSP fee (£5.35)
