LPC Contractor Levy Holiday

Community Pharmacy Hampshire & Isle of Wight (HIOW Local Pharmaceutical Committee) have made the decision at the recent LPC meeting to use some reserve funds to provide a ‘levy holiday’.

As we all know, the current financial situation in the Community Pharmacy sector is very serious. Many pharmacies are operating at a loss and some may be forced to close their doors permanently if the highly anticipated new contract does not secure future funding.

Additionally, all pharmacies will face further challenges from April 2025 due to government decisions regarding NI contributions, increase in minimum wage and higher operational costs.

In recognition of these challenges, and to support pharmacy contractors, Community Pharmacy Hampshire & Isle of Wight has decided to grant a three-month Levy Holiday starting in April 2025.

We sincerely believe this decision, along with the additional Winter Pressure funding we managed to obtain from the HIOW ICB for pharmacies in the area, will help support pharmacies with some of the financial shortages in the short term while the National Contract is being negotiated.
