Medicines Safety, Alerts and Recalls

A reminder to all pharmacies to action any alerts and recalls immediately and to advise any patients presenting a prescription for affected items to contact their prescriber for an alternative product as soon as possible.

A recent case saw a baby go without prescribed milk for 10 days due to a number of events including failure to identify the product recall at both prescribing and dispensing points.
