Additional urgent capacity and stabilisation sessions are now in place for patients in HIOW area who have an urgent need.

Additionally, the following categories of patients can be seen, whether or not they have been to the practice previously and access routine care:

  • Patients that are clinically vulnerable and require dental assessment/treatment to enable them to receive medical or surgical care, such as cardiac patients, cancer patients and immunosuppressed patients (this list is not exhaustive)
  • Looked After Children (LAC) where there is a statutory requirement to have assessments and any treatment identified
  • A patient that has been referred for orthodontic treatment by a practice that has since ended its NHS contract and who requires extractions before orthodontic treatment can commence
  • Care home residents who can travel to a dental practice for an assessment and subsequent course of treatment, if the assessment identified a treatment need
  • Expectant and nursing mothers
  • Homeless patients
  • Asylum seekers and refugees
  • Armed forces family members
