Read on for details of these recently decommissioned services...

1. Medicines Use Review service now decommissioned (31st March 2021)

The Medicines Use Review (MUR) service has now been decommissioned. Community pharmacy contractors are therefore reminded not to provide any more MURs.

Community pharmacy contractors were able to provide a total of 100 MURs in 2020/21 ahead of the service being decommissioned. Contractors are, therefore, reminded that if they did provide any MURs during the month of March 2021, the claim for MURs must be submitted by 5th April 2021, in accordance with the usual Drug Tariff claims process. Later claims will not be possible.

2. Flu Vaccination Service 2020/21 ends (31st March 2021)

The national community pharmacy Flu Vaccination Service 2020/21 finished on 31st March 2021. Community pharmacy contractors are therefore reminded not to administer any further vaccinations under this service.

Claims will be accepted by the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) via their Manage Your Service (MYS) platform within six months of administration of the vaccination or by 31st August 2021, whichever date is earlier, in accordance with the usual Drug Tariff claims process. Later claims will not be processed.

3. Pandemic Delivery Service for Clinically Extremely Vulnerable patients ends (31st March 2021)

The Pandemic Delivery Service for clinically extremely vulnerable (CEV) patients finished on 31st March 2021. Community pharmacy contractors are therefore reminded that no further deliveries should be made to these patients, under this service.

The end of the service follows advice from the Government that from 1st April 2021, CEV patients are no longer required to shield; all CEV patients should have received a letter notifying them of this.

Claims for the Pandemic Delivery Service for CEV patients will be accepted by the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) via their Manage Your Service (MYS) portal; claims must be submitted by 5th April 2021. Later claims will not be processed.

Contractors are reminded that the Pandemic Delivery Service for people who have been notified of the need to self-isolate by NHS Test and Trace is still ‘live’ and is commissioned until 30th June 2021.
