Academy Series May 2019

Revalidation – ensuring you are meeting the requirements to continue to practice as either a pharmacist or pharmacy technician

We are delighted to advise you that the May Academy series is on revalidation, a topic which has been a popular request from participants of the Academy sessions to-date.

Revalidation affects all registered Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians:

  • Pharmacists - this year, in addition to CPD entries, you must complete a Reflective Account and a Peer Discussion
  • Pharmacy Technicians - this year, you must complete 4 suitable CPD entries; next year this will include a Reflective Account and a Peer Discussion

By attending, this evening workshop will help you:

  • Understand more about the GPhC Professional Standards for Pharmacy Professionals
  • Understand how to complete a Reflective Account on one of three specific Standards
  • Understand how to have an effective Peer Discussion
  • Consider who will make an appropriate Peer and potentially identify someone in the workshop
  • Understand how to complete a quality CPD entry (Pharmacy Technicians)
  • Reflect on your learning and consider actions for your next steps

We will cover:

  • Standards for Pharmacy Professionals
  • Reflective Account - what this entails, an example of a reflective model and how this can be applied to the standards. We will also start the process of writing a reflective account for those yet to write one
  • Peer Discussion - what this means, how to choose a peer and how to prepare for one
  • CPD entries - a breakout session for Pharmacy Technicians
We recommend booking early to avoid disappointment and please encourage your colleagues in the local area to come along.

The meeting will commence with hot two course meal at 6:30pm, for a 7:15pm start. We will finish at 9:30pm.

This event is FREE to attend and includes a two course hot meal and refreshments
