Hampshire County Council 6th - 12th July
From the 6th July, Hampshire County Council (HCC) are pleased to share a new Rethink Your Drink campaign designed to support people in Hampshire to better understand their alcohol consumption and the impact it can have on their health.
Pharmacists are well-placed to raise awareness of alcohol harm. This campaign offers simple, evidence-based messages to help raise awareness of:
- The health harms associated with regular alcohol consumption
- The importance of understanding alcohol units
- Simple tips to cut down and make healthier choices
How you can support the campaign
Campaign assets are available to download here:
Please support the campaign by:
- Displaying the printable poster, featuring the short campaign video if you have a digital screen or using the social media assets on your channels
- Signposting to Rethink Your Drink Hampshire where people can take a simple quiz to track their alcohol intake and find tips for cutting down
- Encouraging conversations with patients, particularly those collecting medicines for long-term conditions.
- Share pictures of your promotion with us by emailing alison.freemantle@cpsc.org.uk
Even small interactions can make a big difference – a quick prompt that highlights health risks, unit guidelines or effective ways to cut down, can encourage patients to reflect on their drinking and take positive steps for their health.
Why it matters
Alcohol consumption is linked to a wide range of health conditions, including liver disease, cardiovascular disease and some cancers. Increasing awareness of recommended limits and unit measures can empower people to make more informed decisions.
This campaign is shaped by consumer insight and is designed by the Public Health team at Hampshire County Council.
